It’s strange that we expect people, just like in school, to sit behind a desk and stare at a computer for eight hours a day. And before and after these eight hours we are stuck in traffic or waiting for delayed trains.
While research shows that after three hours the brain activity is reduced to a minimum we keep on sitting in meetings, work at that PowerPoint presentation or probably the best thing to do, is to stare out of the window once in a while.
Play helps to activate the activity in the brain. It makes you perform better, you will become more resilient and overall more happy. Enough reason for companies to introduce Play in the office you would think.
Playgrounds, small or big, where people can Play for a while, with colleagues, to not only get the brain activity going again, also to help you to get new insights. Play brings solutions to problems. And another big win is that you meet with colleagues you otherwise won’t see. Connecting with the CEO and the receptionist at the same time. I say; Every Company a Playground.
