It’s summertime and the holiday has started. The holiday means for many of us discovering new places, going on an adventure, relax, contemplating life, especially your own. Or just enjoy spending time with your family. The suits stay at home and the hippie in you comes alive.
Fifty years ago it was the Summer of Love. The start of the hippie movement in San Francisco. It was about love, peace and freedom. About following your dreams and stand for your beliefs. Not conform to what society was expecting of you.
Interestingly, today in Silicon Valley you find many of the old hippies being head of multibillion companies who do make a difference in people’s life. Companies from around the world visit Silicon Valley to learn about innovation and company culture. But maybe the most important learning is that you keep the hippie in you alive.
So, during your holiday, when you are daydreaming, wandering and thinking, also try to come up with a way to keep the hippie in you alive the whole year around. Don’t confirm to the company culture because then you will not make a difference. Cherish the feeling of freedom, love and peace and wear some flowers in your hair. Embrace your hippieness and make a difference.
Happy holiday!
